Business Breakfast with Mayor of Riga Viesturs Kleinbergs

On 27 November, members of the Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia gathered at the Embassy of Finland in Riga for the Team Finland Business Breakfast, where Riga’s Mayor, Viesturs Kleinbergs, was the guest of honor.

The meeting was hosted by H.E. Anne Saloranta, Ambassador of Finland to Latvia. The business breakfast was also attended by Alise Barvika from the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency, as well as Edgars Klētnieks, the Mayor of Riga’s Policy Planning Advisor.

The atmosphere was warm and engaging, with FCCL representatives contributing great questions, fresh ideas and lively energy.

As noted by Mayor Viesturs Kleinbergs, Finnish direct investments in Latvia are nearing the €500 million mark, and it is important that an increasing share of this capital finds its way to Riga. He highlighted several promising opportunities for deeper cooperation — from public–private partnership (PPP) projects and financing solutions for municipal companies to green bonds and broader measures aimed at strengthening the overall investment climate.

One insight stood out among all participants: a people-centered urban environment is just as vital for businesses as it is for residents.
