Reception Celebrating Finland’s Independence Day

FCCL members had the honor of being invited to the Embassy of Finland to celebrate Finland’s 108th Independence Day together — a warm and memorable evening filled with friendship, culture, and meaningful connections.

With over 200 guests in attendance, Ambassador Anne Saloranta reflected on Finland’s journey of independence, highlighting the courage, resilience, and sisu that have shaped the nation. She reminded us that “Independence is not only about history, but about the choices we make every day to uphold freedom, equality, and trust.”

A special touch of Finnish tradition also made the evening unforgettable — the Ambassador’s own homemade cloudberry jam from Lapland.

A heartfelt thank-you to Ambassador Anne Saloranta and the entire Embassy of Finland in Riga team for hosting such a welcoming and inspiring event. Embassy gatherings continue to be a wonderful platform for networking and strengthening our community ties.
