FCCL Hosts a Sparkling Christmas Party

The Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (FCCL) celebrated its traditional and beautifully festive Christmas Party at Hotel Bergs in the historic Berga Bazārs. FCCL member company representatives joined the event together with colleagues and families, creating a warm and joyful holiday atmosphere.

The evening was officially opened by FCCL Chairperson of the Board Valērija Vārna and Deputy Chairman Lasse Henritius, who welcomed guests and set the tone for a memorable celebration.

The programme featured delightful musical performances, including selected opera arias and a lively set by a joint Finland–Latvia music band. A special highlight was the heartfelt performance by the men of the Jaakkola and Alasirnio families—fathers and sons singing together, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Families and children were especially excited to meet Santa Claus (in Finnish Joulu Pukki), who arrived with a sack full of gifts and holiday cheer.

As in many previous years, the musical setting of the Christmas Ball was masterfully provided by Finnish musician Marko Ojala, who is well-known and much appreciated not only within the Finnish community but also among the local Latvian audience. Fully integrated into Latvian society, he once again created a warm and festive atmosphere that guests greatly enjoyed.

The evening’s main event was the charity lottery, featuring wonderful prizes generously provided by FCCL member companies. Thanks to the participants’ support, the lottery added both excitement and goodwill to the celebration.
